Bridgette was wrapping gifts and she heard a scraping on the roof, slowly she looked up and saw the shadow of a big man and eight reindeer's. The man had a big bag full of large gifts and he was stuck in her chimney. Bridgette rushed to help him but when she had gotten to the roof the man had strangely disappeared. She went downstairs and checked in the fireplace but not a trace of him there, so she looked in her bedroom but no sight of him there either, she went and checked back in the living room where she had been wrapping gifts to find that he was sleeping on the couch. She quietly made him a cup of hot chocolate at shook him gently awake. He said that his name was Santa and his reindeer's names were: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. Bridgette was delighted and she asked to hear more when she saw his bag wriggle, "Oh my goodness, Santa, your bag just moved." Bridgette said. "Oh, it does that. Would you be such a dear as to reach into my bag and grab the wriggling creature and give it a life that it will love." He replied. She pulled out a gorgeous puppy. "Is this for me?" She asked, and Santa nodded. She noticed a bright red collar with a circular metal dog tag on it that read in green writing: "Chester." Bridgette looked up to thank Santa for the wonderful gift and she saw that he had gone and there were presents underneath the Christmas Tree. She ran around the house looking for the jolly fellow, but there was no sign of him anywhere. Suddenly she heard a, "Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas!" and bells jingling and she noticed that he had gone and the jingling of bells were the bells on Santa's sleigh. Bridgette felt as though she had to tell someone so she rang her friends to tell them that she had met Santa but none of them believed her, the her phone dinged and Santa had sent her a photo of himself with writing down the bottom saying, "If they didn't believe you send them this and they soon will believe that you met me." -Santa

Book one of six in the Chaotic Hearts series. BOOKS MUST BE READ IN ORDER. - RIVER MINTZ: Listen, I need you to hear me out. I'm a little bit impulsive, and I don't think anything through enough before I'm implementing my next plan of action. And it's because of my impulsiveness that I even ended up in this heartbreaking situation. See, I was falsely engaged to a man-a straight man named Louis-who did some awful things in his lifetime. You don't even want to know. But my parents had sent me to college and told me to discover life outside my wealth. I needed money. But when I found out what Louis had done, I immediately left. I didn't want anything to do with him. He was a vile human being. I should have known better. However, I didn't want my parents to know that I was someone's pet, so while they knew nothing about Louis, I also never told them we broke things off out of fear of my Mother's hound nose discovering what I'd done to make money during college. It's been five months since I ended things with him, and my Mom begged me to come home for Christmas this year and to bring my fiancé. And I couldn't very well say we were no longer together out of thin air, right? I had to figure something out, or my Mom would know I was lying. So, why did my ex-boyfriend, Seven Knight, appear in Chicago when he lived in Vermont, last I heard? Why did he agree so easily? Why was he so willing to go along with this? Mom found out my "fiancé" is Seven, and now she is begging us to get married on Christmas! What do I do?! We haven't seen or spoken in years because we... had to discover life outside of one another. But what I never told him? I never wanted that. And now, I have to pretend we're happily together, and it's confusing my brain. I still love him. I crave him. I need him. But I have doubt that he feels the same. It's been too long. I don't have much to offer. How could he still want me? Ha. What a fun Christmas holiday this will be, right?
