Lukas is the king of all vampires So after the war of the red, humans are being taken in for pets as a show of power.

The prettier the pet the richer your suppose to be or the more educated and the more stealth your pet shows the better you carry yourself.

So when the king doesn't have a pet it shows weakness. so what happens when he is forced into buying a pet.is it more than he can chew!
