Shelby Shepard didn't lead a very interesting life in her 16 years on the colony of Mindor. But one fateful day, her life was turned completely upside down. She is forced to leave her home and start a new life. Will she thrive or fall?

This story is a compilation of the first three Mass Effect games focusing on my Shepard, her background, the choices made in the games, plus some additions and of course, fluffy bits.

If It Meant Living: Mass Effect 1

16 parts Complete Mature

The story of Graceyn Shepard - life, death, rebirth, and life once again. "If It Meant Living" covers the game trilogy and much more. While Shepard is the primary focus, major characters are given significant attention and love (especially later in the story). Canon is only respected so long as it’s worthy, so don’t get comfortable thinking you know what’s going to happen :). Note: The ME2 and ME3 stories will be published as separate works, as well as the sequel ("Beyond") and the one-shots ("Tales") - but it is fundamentally one over-arching story. The "R" rating is for language, violence and (eventually) sexual situations. Bioware owns all rights to Mass Effect and its characters.
