Emmalyn "Emma" Peters is a nineteen-year-old college student who's been hiding more than a few secrets. She's been living with only her tabby, Skittles, ever since she lost her mother at age eleven. Her father lost his battle with cancer when she was seven. To top it all off, she's been constantly bullied for most of her life. Life can't possibly get any worse for Emma, right? 

One night, when she was walking home from school, her house, along with almost all of her possessions burned to a crisp. With nowhere to go, Emma is stuck living on the streets. One week later, she tried to kill herself, until she was stopped by the three new students at her school.
