Her anxiety filled eyes flitted around the room. Twelve faces stared back, undaunted and determined. Her body trembled with perturbation, and she sighed shakily. A strained smile stretched across her lips as she sucked in a deep breath. "Are you ready?" she cried, attempting with great difficulty to exude a valiance she did not feel. A chorus of yeses and cheers resounded around the musty room. They filled her with abrupt gusto and determination. Her grin solidified, and her eyes lit up with excitement. "Alright, then, let's do this!" -- Alexandra Watson has lived an unextraordinary yet fulfilling life for almost sixteen years, and she wouldn't mind keeping it that way. On the day of her sixteenth birthday, however, she is gifted with an ominous package from an anonymous sender that radically transforms her life from routine to electrifying. She finds herself trapped on the warring planet of Mir in which her only options are to fight or die. Struggling to escape certain doom and find a way back home, she meets twelve unlikely friends.
