He was that kid in the back you didn't know existed except when the teacher did roll call. He was that kid that got shoved into in the hallways. He was the kid that sat alone because he was a freak. He was that kid that was different. Yet what I saw was a broken lonely boy, barely there and almost gone. I didn't know why I noticed him when no one else did. I didn't know why I couldn't stop thinking about him. I didn't know why I wanted to save him so badly. I just knew that he was hurting. And I wanted to make him smile.
