Secrets...Greenfire

As I turned around to leave, Kai's voice stopped me in my tracks.

"I don't bite, Garmadon."

I looked over my shoulder to meet his gaze. His eyes stared into my damn soul and I felt myself start to sweat.

"I...figured you'd want to be left alone."

The corner of his lips turned up into a smirk. "No, you want to know why I've been avoiding you." He motioned to a spot on the counter to the left of him, signaling me to come sit down.

I took a sip from my drink and walked over to where Kai was. I leaned against the counter, looking straight ahead at the cabinets to avoid looking at him. "I'm listening."

Out the corner of my eye, I could see he was still staring at me. I glanced over at him, raising my eyebrows.

He let out a little chuckle and set his phone and cup down. He looked away from me as he started cracking his knuckles and I couldn't help but watch his hands as he did so.

Everything he did was attractive.

"Remember the first day you came here and you asked if I had a secret?" He said suddenly.

I started sweating even more.

When I didn't respond, he looked over at me and moved in a little. "Would you like to know?"

After Lloyd's parents send him to an "all boys" boarding school, he befriends Kai, who's hiding a secret that should have stayed hidden.

And might get his heart broken along the way...
