Five long years after Bethany Howard mysteriously disappeared on The Queen's Gambit, she finds herself back in the States. Unlike Oliver, a sliver of the blonde hoped she could leave the horrendous life behind, but, when she gets struck by lightning and her best friend is sent into a nine month long coma, her wishes seem far from reality. Secrets from her past begin to leak as Barry watches her struggle with a lack of sleep and PTSD. How will the relationships she use to have change? Will she be able to move on? Can she truly find happiness for the first time in her life?
