It was a normal night for Riley Matthews -- she'd put on her pyjamas, brushed her teeth, and was about to get into bed. But that's where the normality of it ended.
A girl with blonde hair and ice blue eyes climbed through her second-story bedroom window, ordering her not to freak out as three police cars drove slowly by with their lights flashing.
After the girl introduced herself as "Maya Hart: Local Runaway," and explained that she was hiding from her family and not the police, Riley reluctantly agreed to let her live in her bedroom. But of course, trying to keep a human being in your room without your parents finding out isn't anywhere near as easy as it seems.
