There is a legend in the small town, River-Hallow, Washington.
The legend of the great gallows.
A woman, insane from jealously, set a plot to kill her husband. Her husband was a miner in the gallows hill.
While the woman's husband was in the mines she dumped chlorine gas into the mines air supply.
Gas mixed into the minerals in the stone and created a less deadly solution. The gas did not kill the miners but instead drove them insane.
Gallows hill was a few feet short of being classified as a mountain, so it still was particularly large.
There were hundreds of miners in that hill. Every one of them going completely mad.
A few died in the maze of tunnels but most got out and head off to their town.
The town, gallows valley, was very large and could even put in a claim for statehood.
That was until the miners arrived. The miners brutally killed the men and women and some were even eaten.
A few miners were shot but many still ran all around town.
This massacre lasted until morning with only a few sane people left, hiding.
The miners took those last people and brought them into the mines.
The miners had stocked up on all nonperishables from town and took it with them.
The legend says that some miners were still alive, lost in the maze with some of the towns people.
Many parts of this legend are true. The massacre. The insane miners. But the last part was never proven wether or not was apart of the legend.
This all took place in the summer of 1980s. It been 30 years.
