16 year old Maya Wilson was a perfectly normal, high school girl. Everyone loved Maya, she was perfect. That is, until the summer after freshman year, when she found out her dad was cheating on her mom, with her mom's best friend. After that incident, her mother became addicted to alcohol, leaving Maya to have to take care of herself. No one heard from Maya all summer. When she came back to school during sophomore year, she was turned on by someone she believed to be her best friend, Cassie and she was able to convince everyone to side with her instead of Maya. After this, she was completely different. She was no longer the nice, smart, beautiful girl everyone fell in love with in an instant. She had completely shut everyone out from her life. That is until one day, one of the most popular guys in school decided to befriend her.

I put on a show only for him in front of hundreds of people. "You dropped this." I heard a husky voice say. I turned around to look at what I dropped and realized it was my schedule. I gasped. Damn, I would have been fucked if I'd lost it.
