If she could still breath I would be surprised .

and yet I just watched as this horror happened.'''

Wren's life is about to change forever - but not how she expects it to. Kidnapped on her wedding day, she finds herself trapped in a mountain cave, unable to return home with no company outside of the inhuman creature that took her. *** "Wait, Wren! Not that way!" It was darker here and panic limited her vision, but she could see it reaching for her; its wings like two huge looming shadows behind it. "Get away! Don't touch me! No, let me go!" She shrieked. She screamed in earnest as a hand took hold of her arm, and then even more when her own hand reached for something to hang onto and grasped at empty air. She had been scrambling towards a sudden drop! The hands hauled her back, but she still struggled. She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. "I'll let go of you, okay? Just don't lunge around like that anymore, you'll get hurt." He whispered.

A man stormed in with a gun. She was shot. She lived, but the part of her that trusted life didn't. After that, she became careful. She avoided crowds. Sudden movements made her freeze. She spent more time alone because it felt easier than being around people who didn't understand what had happened to her. Life became smaller, but it felt safer that way. Then one night, someone came for her. He took her from her bed without explaining who he was. He kept her moving, kept her close, and kept his distance at the same time. A man who lived by rules she didn't understand and fear she couldn't escape. Everything about him screamed danger, yet he never touched her without reason. Never spoke more than necessary. He lived for one person only. Everything he did was for his brother. His brother had lost an eye years ago because of him, and he treated that loss like something he could never make right. He followed his brother's orders without thinking about the consequences. When his brother wanted something, he made it happen. Eliza asked questions. Tried to understand what she had been pulled into. The man who kidnapped her protected her but never from the truth. In the silence he left behind, she started filling in the gaps herself. She told herself he wouldn't protect her if she didn't matter. She told herself that the way he stayed close meant something. When she finally learns the reason she was taken, it doesn't come gently. It strips away everything she believed and leaves her facing the fact that she was never chosen. She was a promise. A problem someone else decided to solve. Two brothers want different things from her. One wants to own her. One never planned to keep her. Around them is a world where violence is normal, where people disappear without anyone asking questions, and where some men hunt for reasons that have nothing to do with survival. This is not a story about being saved.

Before I begin, I just want to say that this story does include some mature themes. I will also give out a warning a chapter prior to these scenes. Getting that out of the way, let's go onto the story description... *This book contains explicit content* *EXTRACT FROM THE BOOK* I stared at him, cooking and whistling, something that I could not do, or should I say, wasn't bothered to do. I decided to move away and to try and find an exit but I didn't even take one step back when I heard his voice. "Princess? Is that you?" I saw him raise his head before shooting his eyes onto me. The sudden gaze caused to heart to race while it froze my body as if I have turned into ice. I felt the fear engulf my body, eating me inside out. "You aren't scared of me... Are you?" he asked me, I sensed the envy in his voice. That mixed with his harsh tone caused a wave of goosebumps to course through my body. I wanted to begin by asking him where was I? Why was I here? Why was he here... I wanted to ask him, but I couldn't, the fear was just all too much for me. "Come on... Speak to me... Ask me..." he began. "Ask me 'why am I here' and all of that crap... Entertain me with your fear." I saw him slowly gripping a knife that was on the countertop, with his eyes still on mine. The sides of his mouth slowly began tilting upwards. All the bitterness and the cold, it was all so visible in his eyes. I looked at him in horror, noticing him as he took his first steps towards me. "Talk to me... Because this might be the only time you will ever be able to talk, " he said this sentence in such a calm tone, it caused me once again to shiver with goosebumps. "W-what do you mean...". Never in my life have I stuttered, until then.

A rustle came from the bushes. I whipped my head up, and a pair of luminous eyes met mine. Both fear and panic held me to the ground. I couldn't scream or move. The eyes blinked and lowered toward the ground. They took a step towards me and I matched it, taking a step back. A low growl came from the figure and that seemed to release me from my paralysis. I turned and ran, slipping as I came round the fence, my heart pounding. The heavy footsteps were coming impossibly close and this refueled my muscles and I sprang up coming round to the gate of the fence. As I ripped the gate open, I was slammed to the ground. Teeth pierced the skin in my leg and I let out a shrill scream. I felt myself being dragged backwards towards the trees. I let out another scream and tried to kick my attacker. With a growl, claws came and gashed my other leg and a scream ripped past my lips. Just as I was being dragged into the trees, the pulling stopped. I tried to crawl away and then to stand and run, but the searing pain left me falling to my feet. Blood was pouring out of my leg and I could feel myself slipping away. My attacker crouched, ready to attack again and I helplessly tried to crawl away all the while waiting for the pain and teeth to come again.... ---------------------------------------------------- One night will change Kate's life forever. She will be thrown into the world of the supernatural. Her best friend, Tyler, will try to teach her the ways of her new world. But will he be able to protect her from the new danger in their territory? And ultimately what will happen to their friendship when fate intervenes? In The Eyes Of Fate Series (Book One) "Don't even think about it." I stood frozen in place as he said those words from behind me, which sent shivers down my spine. The rain started running down my face as I started thinking of a way out of here. My body trembled in fear knowing that he could easily hurt me. I'm not strong against someone like him Thoughts raced through my mind as I tried to think of a way to get away from him. But there was nothing but endless trees around me. I blinked away the water running into my eyes due to the rain. My thoughts were disturbed when he suddenly spun me around to face him, his face just inches away from mine. "P-Please don't hurt m-me." I stuttered out. I tried to sound brave and not let my fear show, but my mouth betrayed me. His golden red eyes flickered with a hint of pain for a moment then back to a cold stare, "I'd never hurt you, never put you in harm's way and I'm never letting him take you from me, you're mine." He said in a deep low voice, almost a growl, and his eyes seemed to have gotten darker. 'What the hell is that supposed to mean?!' I tried taking a step back but his grip on my arm tightened. It hurt. "L-let me go, you, you're hurting me!" I looked up at him scared, his eyes were now completely dark, and the next thing I noticed were pointed teeth poking out from his lips. I screamed and pushed at him but he didn't budge. I then raised my knee and kneed him between the legs with all my force, and he dropped like a rock, holding his groin. Run. I took my chance. And ran. ~~~ Nora Brown, a normal adult, living a normal life. Moving away from home to start fresh and meet new people. Just going where life takes her. He was her rock, her best friend, her first love. He became her worst nightmare, her tormentor, her captor She was his everything. His obsession. Their story should have ended with that court case, but he's found a way back to her, and he won't give her another opportunity to escape. Not this time. ------------------------------------------- Shivering, I sobbed out, unable to speak, unable to move. "Shh, shh, now baby-girl, it's alright, you're safe, don't cry" he soothed, moving closer to me. "N-Noah, I w-want to go home," I sobbed, feeling weak from my inability to talk without stuttering. A gasp left my parted lips as his hand forcefully connected with my cheek, "You are home, so I don't want to hear that crap from you, okay?" shaking, I looked down at my feet, his gaze too menacing to hold. "I said, do you understand" he spit through clenched teeth, "y-yes, I'm sorry" I whispered, a new wave of tears making their appearance. "Good girl, now I need you to keep being a good girl, okay?" nodding, my eyes met his dark ones. His form towered over me, making me feel small and irrelevant. "Words, Embry!" He demanded as I stuttered out a quiet yes. I studied him cautiously as he walked towards the far end of the room, shuffling through drawers before stalking back towards me and crouching down. I sucked in a breath as I saw the knife in his hand, his face held a mischievous grin as it glinted in the light. "Now baby-girl, you see, as much as I hate to, you need to be punished, do you know why?" Warning! This story is for mature audience, it contains strong language, abuse, mature themes and sensitive topics. Please enjoy, -Aphrodite.
