In the middle of the forest, trying to stop the blood from gushing out of the wound on my stomach. How did it come to this? So much pain. Is that all there is? My eyes start to droop. No.. I have to stay awake a little longer! "Help!" I yelled even though I know my team is probably long gone by now. They left me here. Alone, they left me here to die. who wants an orphan playing soldier? not the Captain. I shutter. No, what a better way to get rid of me? I choke on the laugh. Pain shoots through my stomach. Bad idea. I roll over on my back. Looking around for something to prop myself up on I see a shadow moving through the trees. Without thinking I yell "help! please, I...I'm injured! Please!" I see the shadow stop mid stride. It's back facing away from me. Seems to have some kind a black cloak covering its body, or is it blue? ow, my head.. I must of whacked it on something. Just great, add that to my list of injuries. Slowly it turns around, revealing a pair of blue glowing eyes. Crap that's what I get for opening my big mouth. " Never mind, sir. I'm fine, really." I say as he walks over. Well I'm guessing its a he. His cloak flows across the ground- is he floating? unlikely. I feel like I'm sinking further into the dirt.. now he stands over me. too weak to run, I'm at his mercy. Bending down so now he's at my level, his eyes never leaving mine. A pale hand slides out of his sleeve and touches the side of my face "shhh.. hush now. rest." his voice sends shivers down my spine. I try to fight the battle inside of me, my eye lids feel like a hundreds pounds. I lost the battle, but maybe I can win the war. If I ever wake up that is. Before the darkness can take me I hear him whisper. "Never Alone." Kira, the Orphan soldier left to die. Or so she thought.. Magic, evil kings, enchanted forests, she will have her hands full. Lets throw in a charming prince... Its a good thing destiny has a way of finding you.

"Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?
