Confined to a wheelchair from a young age, Melony Holmes has only ever wanted one thing: to walk again. When a groundbreaking treatment is offered to her, Melony practically jumps at the chance. But when she begins to develop mysterious side effects, Melony begins to think that the treatment may be working a little too well. However, when an attempt is made on her life, Melony decides the best thing to do is to try and disappear. Taking her brother with her, Melony throws herself into a world she knows nothing about with only one goal: to keep her brother safe.
