Yugo the Eliatrope is a pretty normal kid. Okay, no, scratch that. He, as you might remember, is an Eliatrope, which is a species thought to be gone. Yugo has been on so many adventures with so many wonderful friends, but now he's taking a break for awhile, in his adoptive father, Alibert's, restaurant.

The Doctor is a Timelord. Timelords are extinct, besides him. He's alone. Once and awhile he takes a companion to travel the universe with him, but it's rare that he grows so close to them. His most recent companion is gone. Not dead, just lost. After this occurred the Doctor was alone in his TARDIS when suddenly it began to shake.
