There are legends of dragon, but they're magical creatures, magic was banned hundreds of years ago after the great purge. Before that there a legends of dragon heirs, blood line wasn't the deciding factor in who ruled the kingdom, the dragon heirs did. You didn't choose to be royal, it chose you.
