Alex, the last royal shifter, was born at the end of the the War. During that time, many of the shifters were killed brutally because they were "too dangerous" around the humans. They could have killed the humans but the humans won from a great alliance between kingdoms, and the consequences were great.
It had been a decade since the war and the Shifters had retreated on an island. After the war, the humans let the Shifters live on an island but every year a few Shifters were taken from the island to the unknown. Alex was one of them. Where will she go? What will happen to her? Will the fait of her mother lead her to the resolution of the war?
