Lucy's father likes to gamble and it bites him in the butt hard when he was drunk he put up Lucy for the offer if he had won and not been drunk he would have kept Lucy , he lost to a man named natsu , he is a pirate they have great accuracy so there was only about 10% of him winning against natsu
