What will happen to him when he arrives? It's anyone's guess. With both needing to head different ways for their careers, the once inseparable Squid Sisters were now barely talking. When Marie's life looked to be settling down, God had different plans. Her beloved cousin reported missing, with no sign of her whereabouts. Grief filled the pop star, almost making her not realize Inkopolis Square's source of energy disappeared too. The pressure piled on until she saw a weird inkling wandering around aimlessly in the square.

Strange hybrids of insects and cephalopods have come to Inkopolis bay to take everyone back to their home, wanting to please their ruler with the love for music, friends and battle that everyone has. With X, Y, and a few others surviving hidden in the ship of NS Arctorra, it's up to them to bring everyone back and restore the bay to what it was before.

Our protagonist: a spunky, clever, and determined Inkling named Zaki who runs away from home and goes to Inkopolis, hotspot of the biggest new sport: ink battles! She tries to find her niche as a battler and makes a few friends along the way, like the kind but fussy Mikado, an introspective sharpshooter named Keiso, and Teruo, a self-proclaimed roller gal with a sparkling personality, but she also finds a few rivals... Oh, and she also gets roped into becoming Agent 3 of the Squidbeak Splatoon, on a mission to rescue the Zapfish from the Octarians, who have returned after the Great Turf War of 100 years ago. So she's living the dream, but she's also living a bizarre double life. One she'll have to keep from her friends. They wouldn't want her doing shady stuff, right? I do not own Splatoon or any of the characters except for Zaki, Mikado, Keiso, Teruo, Biito, and a few minor characters. Cover design is mine. Some dialogue and episode titles are from Zack Scott's playthrough of Splatoon.
