Scarred

At 16 year's of age, a shifter's body is finally able to shift into their animal.
Except for me.
That's right. I didn't shift.
Not at first, not on my birthday.
It was 6 months later, after I was an outcast.
That was when I was attacked.
That was when I got my scar.
I will never forget the attacker's eyes, the color of his fur, the markings on his face.
I will never forget the moment I was attacked by my mate.
