Violets mother, Anna died when she was only 6 years old from breast cancer so Violet is left is left with her abusive, alcoholic father. Violet gets depression from everything such as her father, having no friends, her mothers death and stuff like that. She becomes suicidal and cuts her wrists down to the vain and leaves huge scars.
