Vikk didn't expect to end up as a father, especially not a father of twins, but his partner didn't want both of them. She took one child, leaving Vikk with the other, while he desperately searched for the child she took. Neither Lachlan or his girlfriend wanted to be parents, and it interfered with both of their jobs. Her job was more important to her than her relationship or child and she left him with said child, unable to cope. For Rob it wasn't planned, but he was ready to take each day as it came and support his girlfriend through parenthood. But when the baby is born and suffers extensive brain damage his girlfriend leaves him, leaving him behind with a disabled child. Preston was in a committed relationship, married, ready to begin a family, but complications left him alone with his little boy. But as their paths collide, things change. Who will be left on the other side?

Losing Our Battles- A Vikklan, Merome and Poofless Story
Everyone has their battles. Preston was diagnosed with cancer, leukemia, at 17 years old and 7 years later he was still battling it. He's almost never home, spending months upon end in hospital receiving treatment that is working less and less each time. Rob's parents never seemed to care about him but as he got older and became more independent, they became abusive. Nothing he could do was good enough for them. Mitch couldn't remember a time that he wasn't depressed, that he felt like he was alive. Treatment never seemed to work, meds only made him feel worse and the only thing that made him feel anything was bringing a blade to his skin. Jerome didn't know how the addiction started, but drugs had always been apart of his life. His parents were addicts so it seemed like fate that he would follow the same path, and now he didn't know if he could change. Vikk had turned to alcohol to lessen the pressure on him to succeed and now it was just apart of his life. He tried to hide it and got pretty good at it too, but he was sure that someone knew of his habit. He was drinking his life away. Lachlan was diagnosed with schizophrenia. The mania set in worse as more years passed to the point where he wasn't entirely sure what was real anymore. Everyone has their battles, but sometimes, people lose.

Lachlan goes missing. No one knows why, or who took him, or where he went. There was a man, a lone, unidentified man on the security footage that lead him away from the bar while his friends stood, waiting for him. With no witnesses willing to come forward and hope running out fast, what is there to do? First a day passes. Then a week. Everyone is frantic, pleading his return- pleading for information. Someone must know what happened, someone must have seen him. Someone took him, and that someone is still holding him. If they hadn't killed him already. Time ticks on. Vikk can't continue a normal life like this, no one can move on. There are photographs, memorials, tributes and everyone is still pleading for someone to come forward, but no one does. How can anyone move on like this?
