Penny Franklin and Kate Darlington met on Twitter in 2008. Countless nights spent tweeting and video chatting from their homes in Indiana and Connecticut led their friendship to blossom. In 2013, they were still inseparable, or so it seemed. School and teenage problems took its' toll on their friendship, as they slowly drifted away from each other and Twitter. But before they went their separate ways, they made a pact that one day they would finally meet and go on all of the crazy adventures they had always dreamed of doing, but never been able to accomplish. No matter what it took, that was their promise.

Twenty years in the future, Penny's life is going nowhere fast. She thought her dream boyfriend of seven years was finally going to propose, but he dumped her for a blonde model. Her aspirations to become a top magazine editor in NYC never worked out either. She's working a minimum wage job as a funeral home receptionist. She lives in the same town that she grew up, in a small apartment. Penny fears that she'll never get the opportunity to spread her wings and fly.

Kate Darlington is CEO of a high-end clothing store Dazzle Darling, with boutiques in NYC, LA, London, Paris, Milan, Tokyo, and more. She lives in a penthouse that overlooks Times Square with her husband of eleven years. Her daughter Illiana is studying at boarding school in Switzerland. She has everything anyone could dream of: a loving family, tons of money, a successful career. However, Kate feels like something is missing. Her only "friends" get drunk every night and gossip behind her back. She has no one to trust and doesn’t want to go spiralling downwards.

When a surprise brings Penny and Kate together in the Big Apple, will they finally get all they dreamed of? In twenty years, a lot can change. But the one thing that hasn't changed, is the promise.
