Song Freeman isn't depressed. She just isn't. So, what, her grades spiralled after sophomore year and her parents resolve their conflicts by slamming doors and throwing things and she's become skilled at following suit in her own little ways, like shutting people out and throwing her life away but still. She's never been diagnosed with depression. So she isn't. She's just... a little antisocial.
Despite all of that, a couple pesty classmates insist there's more to her than that. They say they'll stop at nothing to break down her walls.
They act as if she'll let that happen.

All the girls represented one of her problems. There was one girl with braids, one that was short, one with a yellow cardigan and then the others that she didn't explain. So, the girl had her boyfriend break up with her, people steal from her and bully her and her family was abusing her at home.
