The year is 1909. The World is uneasy. The Mundanes of the world, long ruled by the Magi, have turned to a radical notion for their salvation - Science! They have bent fire to their will and harnessed its tremendous power, a feat that for three thousand years had been possible by magic alone. Some Magi, eager to keep up, have begun to marry the secrets of science to the forces of magic, becoming unimaginably wealthy in the process. A name has been coined for this ongoing opportunistic process - the Symbiotic Revolution. Meanwhile, in the heart of Europe, in the Kingdom of Domremy, thirteen year old Gregory Grey is hellbent on finding his vanished parents. And a mysterious girl in the neighbouring dictatorship-in-lockdown may hold all the answers. Edit: The updated draft of this story is now being posted at gregorygrey.net.
