The year is 2186, the fall of the Reaper threat. True the most feared and hated machines in the galaxy are destroyed, but at a cost. The Mass Relays are damaged, the galaxy is in chaos, Cerberus still has power even when The Illusive Man is declared dead, and almost all Synthetic life has been destroyed.

The Salarian Dalatrass, furious with the desicon of the Alliance to cure the genophage, has gone rouge, sending hit and run strikes against Urdnot Wrex and the Krogan species. Signs of mutiniy and betrayal are all around as an old enemy, once thought destroyed, rears its ugly head out of the shadows. . .
During this, Commander John Shepard awakes in Huerta Memorial Hospital on the rebuilt Citadel, meraciously survivng the explosion of the Crucible. Two things pop into his mind: How did he survive, and where Tali'Zorah vas Rannoch , his one true love, was.
