When Ben Solo turns his back on the First Order, aiding the Resistance in a crucial battle taking place at least a year after the events of The Last Jedi, he is sentenced to be exiled, and with him, Rey, with whom he shares a powerful Force Bond. He is being condemned for the crimes he committed against the galaxy when he called himself Kylo Ren; Rey is going with him because she was the one to defend him in his trial. Star Wars Episode IX: Duel of the Fates
(AU) Luke is gone. Kylo Ren is the new Supreme Leader. The Resistance is all but decimated. Now, all responsibility falls on Rey to balance the Force and bring an end to this war. But as a relatively untrained Jedi, she will not be able to find balance in the Force when she cannot find balance within herself. With whispers of Palpatine's return, the Dark side has been growing stronger and stronger every day. Will she be able to defeat them or will the pull to the Dark be enough to turn her and cause a different ending to the war? *This is an alternative universe that takes place just before/during the events of the Rise of Skywalker. There will be some things that could be similar to the film, but I will be changing quite a bit.
