Kaylie is the child of a poor couple in a mystical land. As soon as she was seven, she was sent to a charity school for warriors. There, Kaylie learns of a mystical society of Shapeshifters. Then, she meets Dusk. A dragon. Specifically, a dark dragon. Dusk's mission is to hunt down the young Shapeshifters and bring them back to his master. They are being recruited to join the Children of Darkness. Rivalling them is the Youth of Light. Kaylie has been caught up in a centuries-old battle between light and dark, and nobody can foretell the future now.
