"Hello?" I heard a voice chirp out in what I then realized was not an abandoned room. "Hello." I replied back. Footsteps grew closer to me but I didn't pay mind to it. I wrung out my jacket, covering the floor in more water than it already had. The room was dusty, filled with old books in every corner. Who would give up a place like this?...

Kezi never believed in ghosts. That was until she moved into the old house at the edge of town-a house where the walls whispered at night and shadows moved when no one was watching. Kezi dragged her suitcase into the dusty old house, sighing as she looked around. It smelled like old wood and something she couldn't quite place-maybe dampness, maybe... something else. "Well, home sweet home," she muttered, plopping her bag on the worn-out couch. The house had been a steal-big, cheap, and just a little creepy. The real estate agent said the previous owner left in a hurry, but hey, Kezi wasn't superstitious. A deal was a deal. As night fell, she curled up in bed, the silence heavier than she expected. The air felt thick, like the house was holding its breath. Just as she started drifting off, she heard it.
