Mickey Smith stays in the parallel world, knowing that he'd lose Rose Tyler and never be able to come back, to help destroy the Cybermen. He stays with his Gran, who is dead in the real universe, but alive in the parallel. He has the help of Jake, who was a friend of Ricky (Mickey in the parallel universe), who died trying to defeat the Cybermen.

I often question the possibilities: Why? Did he realize how dangerous I was becoming? Was he scared me because I was becoming too powerful?
