Do lifelong friendships really last forever? Hailey and Triss have been best friends since the second grade. Twenty-one-years later, the two girls are moving from Virginia to California for a fresh start. Road trips can be tiring, especially when the person you're with is irritating you. Hailey tries her best to have fun with Triss like they used to, but it gets harder with each passing day. Some people just don't know when to grow up. Can their friendship survive everything it's put through on their four day trip? Funny and touching, Girls Like Us is a must-read for the summer.

"I just realised something." I say, breaking the long silence from the journey. "I'm not gonna be too sad if we don't end up finding her." I speak looking straight ahead as I drive down the road, a million thoughts running through my head. I continue, "Maybe cause to travel is better than to arrive. It's actually what has happened along the way that counts; the tears, the falls and the friendship. It's about the journey and not the destination. And I know she'd think the same. So, I guess, we just gotta trust that the future is gonna work itself out like it's supposed to." I finish off and the other two don't say anything. I glance towards them to see them watch me with apprehension. We all fall silent once again as the trees pass by us, unable to stop thinking about that one silly, reckless knobhead. Friendships are nice that way, just a bit complicated
