Ren isn't used to opening up to people. After years and years of having to keep her heart locked away for the sake of never getting it broken, she's left alone and desperate for a new start.

The perfect opportunity to get away from her life comes in the form of a college two states away and a house that the tenants call The Screwed Up Club, where the more messed up you are, the better. Here Ren meets people she actually finds herself wanting to be honest with, and even someone she may want to give her heart to.

But things are complicated by Blue Jones, the elusive rebel with a dark past, that lives across the hall. He's everything Ren isn't, but Ren soon realizes he's just as much a member of the Screwed Up Club as she is. Suddenly Ren finds it hard to control the feelings and emotions she's kept reigned in so tightly, and he starts seeing her, the real her, regardless of how hard she tries to stay away.

But even as Ren begins to let those closest to her in, she finds out that the demons of her past, of Blue's past, aren't willing to stay there. When their world comes crashing in around her, will she fight for the life she's made or will she run away again?
