Catching Chase (ON PAUSE)

For 14 year old Ebony May Jones, things have not always been easy. Living in a dis-functional family who's only form of communication is when asking for the salt or pepper. Nothing ever seems as it should in her life. Even her early introduction into intimacy without real love beyond the normality of what is expected by a grade 9 teenager didn't seem right to her. When making this rationale decision Ebony had no idea that it would continue to haunt her through the trials of trying to escape her painful past. She never thought that she could love unconditionally or trust another boy without the sacrifice of herself with nothing in return.

Two years later and eighteen year old Chase emerges into her messed and complicated life. Gentle and beautiful beyond words, he struggles to understand why she keeps her guard. Although she feels like she is slowly falling in love with him it seems that whenever she gets closer to him, it feels like she has to try and catch him again. 'Catching Chase' is a story about what it feels to know love in a way that is honest, pure and a girls search to put trust back into her heart again.

Please note: Although I did go to Boarding school in Grade 8, this is not a story about my life. I have, however taken events from my life and twisted them to make them suit the characters and plots of 'Catching Chase'.
