So the queen of the demon world gets murdered, now everyone is scrambling to keep the uncontainable darkness from spilling into neighbouring worlds. Nice. Also, the queen's soul is temporarily trapped with a teenager, Shadow Colotian, who is now nearly an adult. With the past 15 years of the war between the worlds, and Shadow breaking free to discover her origins, the poor girl is apparently supposed to teach the all powerful queen to be human in order to go back and take rule of the demon realm, to basically save the world. No pressure.

Secondly, the spell to free the princess from her tower was in Lux's Grimoire which nobody knew the whereabouts of. Thirdly, he can't solve either of these things without a cheeky pirate. August just wants to save the princess and start his duties as a prince, but things keep get thrown at him.
