Quail is the daughter of Nathan and Nettie Delono, duke and dutchess of Antel.
Josh is a shifter. Shifters have two forms: human and an animal. Josh is from the kingdom of Shifton. Most of the people in the kingdom are shifters. He hates the royal family of Antel because they ordered their guards to kill all the shifters in their kingdom. He and his family went on vacation there at the same time the law was established.
One day the king gets very ill, and Quail's parents are killed. Then, Quail runs away. When the king dies Quail will be the only heir. Except Quail knows about another heir, and she has secrets that only her father knew.
