When I was 8 years old.

I broke my mother's favourite antique vase.

She was shopping for groceries at the time.

I was afraid of what she was going to do,

So I ran away to my best friends house, Clara, and hid in her backyard.

It was getting dark when I decided I should head back.

The first thing my mother said as I walked through the front door was,

"Alexander, you can't run and hide from reality."

And what am I doing now?

Running and hiding from reality.

Alongside, dealing with,

My first love and his compliments.

A mean girl and her insults.

And my gay best friend.
