Yukiko was small for her age, small enough to go unnoticed in most situations. Even though she was 5 years old she was only 3 feet tall. She was often bullied at the orphanage where she resided, bullied because she was different. Whenever her emotions got out of control her left eye would glow red while smoke like wisps of what seems like pure energy fly out of her eye, disappearing when they got 5 inches away from her body. The staff of the orphanage isolated her, in 'fear' the other children would get hurt or infected with....whatever they thought she had. Yukiko was miserable there and dreamed of a better life. One day a group of the older kids persuaded her to follow them up Mt. Ebot. Not knowing their true intentions, Yukiko followed them.
