This is a chapter from a novel I'm working on called "Cultbreakers," wherein our heroine is tasked by the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans to find her way into an infamous haunted attic to set the spirits free.
Julia Austerlitz, the daughter of a Grande Louis beer baron, is on a dark and dangerous quest to uncover the truth behind paranormal activity in her family's Gilded Age mansion. Only by helping Sylvaine L'Ombre will she be able to discover the truth. But is this paranormal quest too much for our headstrong heroine?
