Alexander Marshal is twenty four, and lives a fairly normal life. Gets up at six, does his ten minute daily routine, and walked twenty minutes to the local diner to start his shift as a waiter. It's not glamorous, but it gets the much needed income. 

Why? You may ask. It's simple: he has an eight year old daughter. You wanna do the math? 

Now of course he has dreams and aspirations, and desires to become a vehicular engineer, but he can't even get a real job. So he interns at the local chop shop, hoping that one day he can get further so he can make more money to let Lizzie go to college some day. 

Everything has been working out somewhat well over the past years, and he suddenly got a promotion at the diner. But what will happen when Lizzie's babysitter (a college girl looking for some extra money) decides that the job is too long, and she needs to focus on school again? 

Well he looks for another one of course. And that is how the two meet Adalyn Summers.
