Second Chances: A Christmas Tale
Ao3 : Missfoodie2shoes (FULL CREDIT) This is my take on the classic Charles Dickens short story, A Christmas Carol. I know there are many other Harry Potter versions of it, but the ones I found were mostly parodies or comedies, and I wanted to take a more serious look at the story. I really enjoyed writing this, and any feedback, good or bad, is welcome. I wrote this many years before, after Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince came out, but before Deathly Hallows came out, so this would not be considered canon beyond HBP. I feel it still holds up well over the years, though, and thought I would share it with you all. Since this is the first Christmas since Alan Rickman passed away, I am dedicating this story to his memory. I will post once chapter a day, so this story will finish posting on Christmas Eve day. I have just finished reading Pride and Prejudice for the 100th time, and I really wanted to see how Elizabeth and Darcy handle their married life, so I decided to write my own sequel. This is just to satisfy my own wild side, I have never been to Great Britain (but I would love to!), and I know very little of the 19th century traditions. *I appreciate all the corrections I get on the culture/timeline/location/language/plotline dearly and would do my best to fix my mistakes in the story.
