"I think you're beautiful."

My face radiated an entirely new shade of pink once those words came from his mouth. I knew that hearing a statement like that wasn't supposed to mean much to me, that I should crave some kind of compliment about my intelligence or humor or soccer skills. Beauty was stupid and didn't matter in life. But, no one had ever called me beautiful before and any sarcastic comeback or insult vanished as my brain buzzed with the sound of white noise instead.

Shadow Hill High School, known for only one thing- their amazing soccer team.

The pride of the soccer team is the senior captain, Jarrad Pike. He's the nicest guy in school that wins every girl's heart, but a control freak on the soccer field.

A week before school starts, a father and daughter move into the house next door to him. To his surprise, Maddie Cross lives for soccer.

With no girls soccer team at the school, Maddie is forced to tryout for the boys team. Along the way she is introduced to the other boys on the team, catty high school teenage girls, and to Jarrad's dismay, his own brother who is constantly hitting on her.

Cross Examined is a story full of the amazing sport of soccer, winning, losing, heartache, fights, lust, anger, resentment, and most importantly love.

Will Maddie Cross survive?

"I walked over to where Aaron was sitting on the ground, kneeling so that I was face-to-face with him. He was wearing a blank expression on his face so I guess he didn't really care if I kissed him or not. I took in a deep breath before taking his face in both of my hands and swooping down to kiss him. At first, I was so nervous I didn't realize that we were already kissing but after a few moments, I realized how soft his lips felt on my own. Before I can register it I felt him moving against me. I would have gotten off of him but I realize that he wasn't moving to get away from me. No, He was moving his lips against mine." °°°°° Aiden Moore isn't extraordinary. He has average looks, he is OK with sports, and his only strong point is that he is smart (although that doesn't mean much to his fellow classmates). And, of course, his virgin ass has never had a girlfriend, let alone a crush. It seemed as if he would never find someone. That was until he met her, Scarlett Hale. She was the most beautiful girl you will ever meet. Kind, sweet, and one of the few people with a higher GPA then him, she was amazing and Aiden imagined that she would be all his. Once Aiden gets rid of her boyfriend, Aaron Tyler. The most annoying guy you will ever meet, Aiden gags just thinking about him. The man is smoking hot and makes Aiden's dreams of getting the girl to seem very impossible. So what would happen if Aiden gets involved with the wrong person? Will Aiden get the girl? Will he fall short? Or will he fall into the arms of a guy who is in love with the girl he loves? _______________________________________ WARNING: First book EVER! As sweet as sugar. An organized, picture-perfect daughter and student. You thought. So what? She can be a little clumsy, who isn't sometimes? She's a sarcastic, likable person who loves to speak her mind, except she doesn't. She a quiet one until you get to know her. She helps her mom with organizing and setting up games and school events for the school and she's basically just known as the principal's daughter. Alex Ryder. As hot as spice. He's the captain of the soccer, lacrosse and swim team. He's known for his hot looks and player ways. He's a dick. But he's hot so, you know, girls go crazy. Here and there. Quite literally when you look here and there you will see him with one girl. A new one every week, I'm telling ya. Very cocky and devilishly charming, I must say. The sharp jawline, pretty eyes, messy but hot hair kind of guy, you get the picture. Sugar and spice don't mix well, especially these two. They despise each other but often end up dealing with each other while organizing games and events. She's got a boyfriend and he shuffles girls every week. Everything's good until she gets cheated on. Spoiler alert, her boyfriend decides to cheat on her with Alex's temporary girlfriend. Once again, the two are put together, but this time it's planned. This time he's her 'boyfriend.' This time he's helping. This time sugar and spice are perfect together because, with the right amount of sugar and the right amount of spice, you get the perfect mix for a perfect recipe.

COMPLETED✅ Two high school teenagers finding themselves, analyzing this ever changing world, and building love. This is the type of love you wish you found in high school but probably know way too well that it only exists as fiction. Today I'm turning my fiction to reality. ❣️•••❣️ Excerpt: Just as I was about to seek shelter under some building's roof, the tires of a car come to a halt, I wonder who might pity the lonely girl walking in the rain. The passenger window rolls down, and I spot the most unexpected person seated behind the wheel. "Get in" comes out his voice, and I must've stood there agape for a few moments because next comes his rhetorical question. "Are you getting in or continuing walking in the rain?" Eyebrows raised expectantly. He sounds annoyed, like he regrets his decision to ever stop and help me. ❣️•••❣️ #5 in cynical #2 in loveandfriendship #1 in opinionated #4 in ihatelife #10 in nerdgirl #10 in HighschoolRomance #26 in GoodGirlBadBoy *contains mature themes. *contains cursing.
