Twice (Hangul: 트와이스, stylized as TWICE) is a multi-national K-pop girl group formed byJYP Entertainment through the 2015 reality show Sixteen. Selected from a pool of sixteen JYP trainees, the group includes five members from South Korea, three fromJapan, and one from Taiwan. The group is composed of nine members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. The name Twice was chosen because members will be able to "wow their fans once through their ears and twice through their eyes."[1] They debuted on October 20, 2015, with the mini-album The Story Begins.[2] On December 2, less than two months after their debut, Twice was nominated for Artist of the Year and awarded Best New Female Artistat the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards.[3]
