Bracers

Almost enslaved. The cause if removed, Likely death. The year is 2024. Scientist created what's called a Brace. It's not the kind of brace that helps sprains. Its like a choker necklace and bracelets. It is put on exactly two years after birth. My parents volunteered me as a bracer. A bracer is a person who has had the brace put on. The reason it has to be applied at two years of age precisely is because they say that the bone patterns are in the perfect position. If it is applied any time before or after it will kill them. Literally. If I were to try to remove it I will die. At the age of two when they apply it it connects to vital nerves and muscle. If removed the muscle and nerve tear. Causing immediate death.
