When Leora is diagnosed with a rare brain cancer she needs to have a small transplant in order to survive. When her whole family is tested for a match she discovers she is adopted and a random boy at school decides to donate his brain to save her life. When weird things start happening to her the guy tells her that he is a vampire and the transplant had changed her. Now she has to be shipped off to a boarding school and her mom is to afraid to do as much as return her phone calls. When she teams up with the school headmistress to make sure that Leora's existence is over, Leora needs to confide in her new friend Bradley to get out of the school. This is a story about the hope of a girl who just wants her mom to love her even after tragedy. Family comes first? Yeah right.
