Lee's life was touched in many ways by bad things. Dark things. Shameful things. But, Lee always felt that it could have been worse. That there was always someone who had it worse. Rather than feel self-pity for what did happen, Lee generally felt relief for what did not. This kept Lee moving through her life. When she stumbled, fell to her knees, the mantra would repeat itself in her head, others have it worse. So, getting back up, Lee would start out again. Mostly with hope. Sometimes with just sheer determination.

I'm just sitting down writing. There is no plan. This is why the first couple of chapters are short and not very involved. But, as you will see as you go along, I warm up to my subject. So, it does get more entertaining. You just have to be a little patient. I will eventually re-write the beginning, but don't skip it, because it sets up the rest of the book.
