Close as Strangers

Six months is a long time isn't it? Half a year? A lot can change in a six month period of time.
People can change.
Change is hard to ignore. It happens when you least expect it.
Just ask Lucas or Gabrielle.
They can tell you real quick how six months can affect you. Especially when you're on opposite sides of the world.
Lucas left Gabrielle. That's telling the cold hard truth. One simple text message, and then he left for six months.
Gabrielle wasn't happy. She was alone. All of her friends left her for six months. She was depressed. She didn't know what to do.
So she made some major changes. There was nothing left of the old "her". She was part of her past. Gabrielle now was so much happier, and everyone was her friend.
She had thought nothing of Lucas for four months. She was sick of trying to keep in touch with him.
Then Lucas comes back. He's oblivious to everything. He doesn't know of the changes, doesn't know where the Gabrielle he knew went.
He thinks that they can pick up right where they left off.
Gabrielle, however, isn't so sure.
