When the Darkness corners us from all angles, encasing us, closing in on us, morphing us. Evolving us...the only way to break away, is to shed our light upon the Dark, to make it glow. And we will survive, flourish, and expand our Light, to wash out the cervices and holes that have been filled with Darkness.
We shall give Light, to extinguish the flames.
We will no longer watch as we burn.
We will burn Darkness with Light.
If we will burn, let us burn with hope.

Everything was destroyed and this was known as the Collapse. Humanity would've become extinct if the Traveler hadn't of sacrificed itself, pushing back the Darkness with its Light. And with the last of the Traveler's strength, it created Ghosts, little mechanical beings to search for deceased people who are capable of wielding the Light as a weapon. Ghosts resurrect these people from the dead and they protect what's left of humanity with their powers. These people are known as Guardians.
