After a time the mortals the Goddess created began to resent the guardians and claimed them to be evil begins; calling them witches and hags and sending them away or killing them off one by one. They did not know what forces they were playing with. The Goddess became so furious with how her creations were treating her special guardians that she sent them back to her to save them from the chaos. But some stayed.
Some of the guardians were so enraged and engulfed with revenge towards the mortals that they embraced the title witch and wreaked havoc on the mortals. They were fueled by hatred and pain allowing them to eradicate all of the mortals. The Goddess of course stopped them before they could fulfill their wish. Upset with the Goddess and infuriated with the mortals of earth the guardians that called themselves witches went into hiding vowing one day to release a punishment most suitable for the wrong doings of the mortals.
Sensing bloodshed in the near future, a small band of guardians came to the Goddess and requested to be sent down to earth to keep a watchful eye on the witches. The Goddess understanding sent them back down. The guardians disbanded but always remaining in contact with each other. All seemed calm for many, many years until the witches began gathering again."
