When a black cat shows up on her back porch in the pouring rain, a young Isadora knows she has a new best friend. Something about him feels off, though. For instance, he refuses to answer to anything other than Sebastian and is better at math than she is! Coming from a long line of witches, her mother assures her that he’s her familiar, but Isadora swears the cat rolls his eyes every time she makes that comment. Little does she know that her best friend is a cursed warlock. After ten years of him never leaving her side, Sebastian suddenly disappears. Determined to get her best friend back, Isadora uses a tracing spell, which leads her straight into the midst of a secret society calling itself G.A.T.O. For reasons unknown to her, they are holding Sebastian hostage, and to rescue him, she must infiltrate their ranks.

There's a red thread between life and death. In the town of Willow, there's nothing much to hear in store as the sun does not rise and the clouds are not perfect blue skies. The time passed and the light could not get in; it is difficult for life to foster, so death lingered a little longer. But like in most situations, life and death repel, leaving a tragic glow. In this melancholic tableau, a tragic feat reigns until the fateful moment someone dares to open their door and invite change. For Alora Beaufort, solitude is a familiar companion in Willow. Accustomed to the hushed whispers of the ghostly town, she finds herself navigating an even lonelier existence when an unprecedented calamity befalls the land. While she had grown accustomed to the art of surviving in isolation, she finds herself alongside a group of valiant defenders who fight for the lives of others. She embarks on a journey into the shadows, hoping to gain a clearer perspective on the world she's living in Yet the world is not as tranquil as it seems, and the darkness is already half through conquering the light.
