Cold. That icy cold just seeping through my bones. No oxygen; only water filling my lungs, as I struggled for air. That ringing in my ears; an earsplitting headache, that being helped by dizziness. The sting of salt water in my eyes.
That's what I remember before darkness consumed me.
Now, maybe I should backtrack, tell you what happened. The truth is, I don't know what happened. It's all a blur. My name, Ariadne Ryder. I am 17 years old. My family is with the angels. This tale, is confusing. Hey, I don't understand half of it. I do know, that someone, brought me back.

I was drowning. I knew that. I also knew that the hands around my throat, pushing me deeper into the river water was the cause. What I didn't know was who was drowning me and why. It hurt thinking. It hurt to do anything right now. But I still screamed under the cold water and pushed the hands away as hard as I could. It didn't have much effect. I fought and fought, but I was getting weaker, and colder. The pain was overbearing. I couldn't breathe. We reached the hospital and Ryder, still being gentle, jumped out of the car. Zach opened the doors for him and they rushed inside the emergency room. "We need a little help."
